Golf Course Rules and Regulations

  1. On the course, each player must have a current ticket and a bag with clubs.
  2. On the course, in accordance with ready golf, each group must have a team captain during heavy play. Ready golf is a style of play designed to keep play moving. Each player should proceed to their ball and play it when not blocked by another person’s lie. Continuous putting should be used on greens. No honors on the tee area; the golfer ready should tee off first. It is the goal of Meadowlark Hills to play 18 holes in under 4.5 hours. Golfers should be considerate and play ready golf.
  3. All players must be able to present a greens fee ticket or season pass card when it is requested on the course.
  4. Practicing is prohibited on the golf course.
  5. Players not reporting nine minutes before their tee time may lose that starting time and be placed in the next open time.
  6. Singles, twosomes and threesomes may be required to join together into foursomes when it is deemed appropriate for speeding up play. Fivesomes are allowed but must be all in the same group.
  7. If a player purchases a ticket and they are unable to play due to time delay, the Golf Professional shall have the option to issue a rain check.
  8. Shirts and shoes must be worn in the clubhouse and on the golf course at all times.
  9. Only conventional soft spikes or smooth soled tennis shoes will be allowed.
  10. Only alcoholic beverages purchased in the licensed clubhouse snack bar are allowed on the City’s golf course property. All other alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
  11. The Golf Professional, or his/her designated agent, may evict players not conducting themselves in an orderly and a sportsmanlike manner or not in compliance with the golf course rules and regulations from the premises.
  12. All play is governed by the local rules and regulations and the rules of the United States Golf Association which are on file at the clubhouse.
  13. The practice and lesson tees at Meadowlark Hills will occasionally be closed for maintenance and at such time as weather dictates. The Golf Course Superintendent, or his/her designated agent, will determine all closings. Players must hit balls from between the tee markers at all times. No one may be permitted beyond the practice tee.
  14. PGA professionals employed by the City of Kearney will teach all lessons at Meadowlark Hills.
  15. Ball hawking is not permitted at Meadowlark Hills Golf Course.  Ball hawking is defined at MHGC as searching excessively for golf balls, other than your own, which will result in slow play and possible personal gain.
